(WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Nov. 23) – The McKendree University swimming and diving program closed out a three day meet at the Purdue Invite on Saturday night. The Bearcats will now compete in Long Course Meter time trials at Purdue on Sunday.
The men finished in sixth with 317 points and the women placed eighth with 160 points.
The meet started off with the 1650 freestyle. Junior
Katelyn Anguish (Afton, TN/Chuckley Doak High School) finished in 24
th with a time of 19:06.56. Sophomore
Hallie Dixon (Jeffersonville, IN/Jeffersonville High School) placed 15
th with a time of 17:29.72.
For the men, sophomore
Charlie Fraser-Allen (London, England/Highgate Wood Secondary School) placed 21
st, finishing in 16:29.98. Junior
Brian Baggette (Glen Carbon, IL/Edwardsville High School) took 18
th with a time of 16:18.40. Junior
Throstur Bjarnason (Reykjanesbær, Iceland/Fjölbrautaskóli Suðurnesja) turned in an NCAA qualifying time of 15:59.68, placing 15
th. Freshman
Fabio Dalu (Cagliari, Italy/Liceo L.B. Alberti Cagliari) turned in the best NCAA D-II time, finishing with a time of 15:11.42, an NCAA A-cut.
In the 200 backstroke, sophomore
Abigail Rumpp (Knoxville, TN/L&N STEM Academy) placed fourth in the D final with a time of 2:07.11. Junior
Meredith Geyer (Germantown, TN/Germantown High School) placed second in the C final with a time of 2:02.02. Senior
Sydney Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) competed in the B final, taking fifth place with a time of 2:00.54.

Davante Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College), junior
Macoy Neinas (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Southern Door High School), and freshman
Michael Meyer (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township High School) each competed in the D final. Carey took third with a time of 1:54.93 and Neinas placed fourth with a time of 1:55.69. Tompkins took fifth with a time of 2:01.14 and Meyer placed sixth, turning in a 2:03.16.
Sophomore
Haley Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) took third place in the 100 freestyle D final with a time of 52.21. Senior
Luca Simonetti (Sassari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Gulielmo Marconi Sassari) placed first in the D final, turning in a time of 45.75. Junior
Alexander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) competed in the B final, taking sixth place with a time of 44.99, and NCAA qualifying time.
In the 200 breaststroke, freshman
Grace Credit (La Grange Highlands, IL/Lyons Township High School) broke the school record with a time of 2:21.76, taking seventh in the B final. Senior
Matthew Meals (McKinney, TX/McKinney Boyd High School) and freshman
Barrett Troup (Little Rock, AR/Homeschool) competed in the D final. Meals took sixth with a time of 2:08.16 and Troup placed seventh, turning in a time of 2:08.81. Freshman
John Heaphy (Eagle River, AK/Eagle River High School) competed in the C final, turning in a time of 2:07.35.

Victoria Sananikone (Cedar Park, TX/Cedar Park High School) took seventh in the 200 butterfly, finishing in 2:04.44, an NCAA qualifying time. Senior

John Bodden (George Town, Cayman Islands/Cayman Prep and High), and sophomore
Noah Javens (West Lafayette, IN/William Henry Harrison High School) competed in the D final. Shahenian took seventh with a time of 2:06.19, Bodden placed sixth with a time of 1:59.63. Javens took third with a time of 1:53.93. Pucarevic competed in the B final, turning in the fastest time in D-II with 1:47.66.
