LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University's bass fishing team has moved up to second in the Association of Collegiate Anglers School of the Year rankings.
The Bearcats jumped over Auburn University to move up to second in the rankings for the week of October 12. The Bearcats jumped over Auburn after an extremely good weekend at the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open in which they had three boats in the Top 12.
The Bearcats trail first-place Adrian College by 1,255 points and are 125 points ahead of third-place Auburn University. Drury University climbed to spots from 6th to 4th in the rankings. The reigning school of the year the University of Montevallo moved up to 5th from 9th to round out the top five.
The other teams rounding out the Top 10 are Dallas Baptist University in 6th, followed by Murray State University, Tarleton State, the University of Tennessee, and East Texas Baptist University in 10th.
The Bearcats will look to build on their momentum from this past weekend when they compete at the MLF Central Conference Qualifier in Osage Beach, Mo. at Lake of the Ozarks on Friday, October 15.
