Top-Seeded Women's Soccer Readies for GLVC Tournament Quarterfinal Matchup

No. 24 Bearcats host Tritons to open up conference tournament play at Leemon Field

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's soccer, the top-seeded team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament, plays host to Missouri-St. Louis in the quarterfinal match at Leemon Field on Sunday afternoon. The Bearcats earned the number one seed in the tournament by defeating the Tritons on Halloween, 3-1, at Don Dallas Soccer Field on the campus of UMSL. The quarterfinal matchup will kick-off at 12 P.M. at Leemon Field in Lebanon, Illinois. 

The Bearcats enter the first round of the GLVC Tournament the winner of four-straight regular season titles in the league, beating Missouri-St. Louis to clinch the championship. McKendree owns a three-match winning streak and a four-match unbeaten streak heading into the GLVC championship tournament. The Bearcats played to a draw against Drury, then beat Lindenwood, Maryville, and UMSL to cap-off the 2021 regular season. Prior to the tie with Drury, McKendree dropped a match to Missouri S&T and leading up to the matchup with the Miners, the Bearcats owned a six-game win streak. 

QUARTERFINAL MATCHUP:
Top-seeded McKendree hosts eighth-seeded UMSL in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament, playing at 12 P.M. on Sunday, November 7 at Leemon Field in Lebanon. The last time these two programs met was on October 31 in St. Louis where McKendree clinched the GLVC regular season title behind a 3-1 win. 

All-time against the Tritons, McKendree owns a 6-4-1 advantage, winning four of the last five contests.
