LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University bass fishing coach
Jon Rinderer has announced that Jaxson Freeman has signed with the Bearcats for the 2021-22 school year.
This past season, Freeman helped start the fishing team at Rantoul High School in Rantoul, Ill. Prior to that, he spent many hours on the water fishing tournaments with his dad and perfecting his techniques and skill set.
Â
During his tournament career, he has had multiple top five finishes on his home lake, Lake Iroquois. He has also fished the Fishers of Men Series, and has really enjoyed the events on Geist Reservoir in Indiana.
Â
Recently, he started fishing ICCAST, a new high school series in Illinois. His ICCAST appearances have netted him several top twenty-five finishes including a recent 2nd place finish in the State Championship on Clinton Lake. This great finish qualified him for the upcoming High School National Championship on Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, TN.
"Jaxson's work ethic, competitive nature, Â and positive attitude make him a great addition to our team," Rinderer said about Freeman's addition to his program.
Â
Freeman is the son of Lance and Trisha Freeman.
"We look forward to welcoming all of them to the McKendree family this fall," Rinderer added.
