EUREKA, Mo. - McKendree University women's golf finished out the two-day National Preview tournament at Fox Run Golf Club, placing 14th (985, +121) after firing its lowest round in the third and final 18 holes of play. Sophomore
Dylan Kirchoff was the leader in the 54-hole outing for McKendree with a tied-for-44th finish (242, +26) while fellow sophomore
Imogen Rafferty marked the other top-50 Bearcats finisher at tied-for-49th (243, +27). McKendree's next tournament will take place on October 17-18 at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois for the Bearcat Dual Gender.
Kirchoff, who led McKendree through the first two rounds, fired her tournament-low round of 80 on Tuesday, rising four places from her 48th position on Monday. The O'Fallon, Illinois-native shot 81-81-80 for the outing, leading McKendree in par 3 scoring (3.17, +2) and pars (26).
The Derbyshire, England-native, Rafferty, recorded her second 80 of the tournament on Tuesday, carding a 243 for the weekend. She ended as the second top-50 finisher for the Bearcats as she moved up three spot in the ranks from 52nd following Monday's action. Rafferty recorded plus-six on par 3s, while leading McKendree in par 5 scoring (5.00, E) and birdies with five.
Junior
Martina Hicks finished three strokes behind Rafferty, at 246, ranking tied-for-60th in the tournament. Hicks fired an 84 over the final 18 holes while collecting four birdies and 19 pars over the entire 54-hole tournament.
Freshman
Sarah Capel and graduate student
Rachael Kell finished tied-for-78th and tied-for-86th, respectively. Capel fired a 257 with an 81 in the final round while Kell carded an 85 on the final day with a 268 total.
