KANSAS CITY, Mo. - McKendree University women's soccer remained unbeaten following its games on September 23 and 25, defeating Quincy, 2-1, and Illinois Springfield, 2-0, allowing it to make the move up to No.12 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches poll (
rankings). The Bearcats improved to 7-0-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the pair of wins. Following the weekend, senior goalkeeper
Abby Tucker was awarded the GLVC's Defensive Player of the Week (
release) as well.
McKendree was previously ranked 14th (9/20/2022), 15th (9/13/2022), and came into the national poll at 16th on
September 6 after opening the season 3-0-0. McKendree continued its unbeaten streak through the season thus far, defeating Kentucky Wesleyan, Lewis, Quincy, and UIS, while drawing with Missouri S&T in a non-conference matchup and UIndy. The now-No.12 Bearcats host Truman State on September 30 and William Jewell on October 2.
The Bearcats ranks second in the Midwest Region and are the only unbeaten program remaining in the region.
