GEORGETOWN, Ky. - McKendree University women's golf grabbed a top-15 individual finish at the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational this past weekend as
Imogen Rafferty carded a 156 over the 36-hole tournament. The Bearcats wrapped up the outing with a 673 (+97) team total for a 12th-place finish, also besting Great Lakes Valley Conference-foe Lewis in the process. The Bearcats will be back on the links for a two-day tournament at the Music City Spring Invitational in Old Hickory, Tennessee at Hermitage Golf Club on April 3-4.
The Bearcats clawed up two spots in the placements following the first day of the tournament after sitting 14th following the first 18 holes of play. Rafferty sat in the lead for McKendree after round one, tied for 34th with an 83 (+11) first 18. On day two, a pair of Bearcats dropped their scores by 10 strokes to advance quickly in the ranks as Rafferty put up a 1-over 73 round and
Martina Hicks fired a 79 (+7) after carding an 89 over the first round.
Rafferty went for a tied for 12th finish with a 12-over final score of 156. Hicks finished out the tournament with a 168 (+24) and a 51st placement.
Paige Hamel competed as an individual for the Bearcats, shooting a 167 (+23) behind an 86-81 weekend. Hamel placed 49th in the tournament.

Sarah Capel, and
Rachael Kell also competed for McKendree as Cain finished with a 173 (t-61st), Capel carded a 176 (t-72nd), and Kell fired a 182 (t-87th), respectively.
