INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - McKendree University women's volleyball's junior setter Amber Williams was named the first-ever Great Lakes Valley Conference Setter of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. The weekly award marks Williams's first of her career at McKendree.
Williams and the Bearcats had a stellar weekend at the University of Indianapolis Invitational this past weekend with a 4-0 performance against Ashland, Thomas More, Florida Southern, and Northwood. Williams was named the tournament MVP after posting a double-double in all four games and totaling 204 assists, 54 digs, 11 kills, 10 blocks, and eight aces. The Colorado native set three new career highs on the weekend including assists (66), digs (22), and aces (5).
Coming up, the Bearcats are back in action with a home tournament on September 15-16.
