Peoria, Ill. – The Bearcats traveled north to the notorious Detweiller Park to compete among a field of 13 teams including several notable division one programs. Detweiller Park is often the host of the Illinois state high school race, so this course was a familiar foe to many of the harriers.  

Sophomore John Bush led the pack of Bearcats with a personal best time of 26:23, followed in suit by senior Jaxon Groves-Scott in 27:42, sophomore Blake Westrater in 27:58, junior Oshawi Burgher in 28:49, and junior Caleb Klein rounded out the scoring with a time of 28:52. 

Senior Seth Kasinger crossed the line with a time of 30:53, and junior Braden Voss closed out the top seven finishing with a time of 31:20.  

Sophomore George Safo finished with a time of 32:03, and junior Caleb Kickham kicked in a 33:46. 

In what was a familiar course to many, the Bearcats left Detweiller Park with a positive outlook and pleased with the improvement that has been made so far this season. 

The Bearcats are back in action next Friday, Sept. 22 where they will defend their home course in Lebanon Ill.
