Women's Bowling Competes in Track Kat Klash, Lions Classic

HOUSTON, Tex. - The McKendree University women's bowling team competed in two tournaments this past weekend, placing ninth in the Track Kat Klash and third in the Lions Classic.

The Bearcats finished ninth overall out of 18 teams, knocking down 12,358 pins in 68 games at the Track Kat Klash. McKendree went 9-4 on the weekend with wins against No. 7 Louisiana Tech, No. 11 Stephen F. Austin, and No. 13 Tulane.

Leading the way in individual standings for the Bearcats was graduate student Alyssa Alexander placing 29th, knocking down 926 total pins, averaging 185.20 pins a game. Senior Lexus Petrich placed 34th overall, knocking down 911 pins, averaging 182.20 pins a game.

The Bearcats had another team compete in the Lions Classic over the weekend, placing second out of six teams. McKendree knocked down a total of 4,833 pins. Leading the way for the Bearcats was sophomore Miranda Emery, placing 13th overall, knocking down 554 pins and averaging 184.7 pins a game. Following right behind in 14th place was freshman Jaycie Smith, knocking down 545 pins and averaging 181.7 pins a game.

The Bearcats are back in action Nov. 8-9, as they travel to Kenosha, Wis. to compete in the MOTIV Ladyjack Classic.
