Marien Selected as ACA All-Academic Team Finalist

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -  The 2024-25 season of the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series will mark the Association of Collegiate Anglers' 20th year operating major college fishing tournaments.  As part of this year-long celebration, the ACA will be creating a variety of new programs and features to showcase the success of student Anglers on and off the water, as well as highlight and look back at major milestones from the past 20 years.

New for this upcoming historic season, the ACA is announcing the creation of the All-Academic Team for the 2024-25 school year.  This award and nomination process is designed to reward student Anglers for their success in the classroom.

At each ACA tournament during the 2024-25 season, three nominees will be selected to the All-Academic Team for that event.  Throughout the season, a total of 12 student Anglers will be selected to the All-Academic Team.  Each of the 12 selected nominees will be presented at that specific tournament, of which they'll receive a valuable prize package, exposure on ACA social media platforms and television series, as well as have the opportunity to be named the Academic All-American at the end of the season.

Graduate student Harmon Marien was selected as one of the 12 finalists in the ACA All-Academic Team. After the 2024-25 season in May of 2025, an academic All-American will be selected from the 12 All-Academic Team recipients at the ACA's Annual Angler & Sponsor Banquet.

"A huge shout out to Wade Middleton, Kyle Curry, and the rest of the staff at the Association of Collegiate Anglers for their efforts to recognize the importance of academics in athletics," said Head Coach Jon Rinderer. "This marks the first year in college fishing that an organization will award anglers for their excellence in the classroom. Congratulations, again, to McKendree's Harmon Marien for being selected as one of the 12 finalists."
