INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski earns herself defensive player of the week honors after leading the McKendree women's volleyball team defensively in a split weekend (1-1). This gives Berczynski her second overall conference defensive weekly award, and her second week in a row earning this honor in her senior campaign.
Head coach Miranda Rodriguez gave the following on Berczynski's accomplishment:
"Ashlyn continues to work and make every defensive play possible. As her coach, I
have seen immense growth from her that continues to push those around her
to be better."
Berczynski recorded 68 digs over 8 total sets played against Truman State (Oct. 9th) and Upper Iowa (Oct. 11th). In the 3-set sweep against Truman State, Berczynski finished with 24 digs. In the team's match against Upper Iowa, Berczynski picked up 44 digs. This gave her a new career high in digs in a single match after setting a high of 30 digs last weekend.
