EVANSVILLE, Ind. – McKendree Men's Swim and Dive set the tone early with a win in the 800-yard relay by the A squad at the Deaconess Aquatic Center Tuesday night.  

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships kicked off the event with the 800-yard freestyle relay event Tuesday night.  

The stars of the night went to the A squad made up of Vova Gavrysh, Tyson Upton, Jakub Rynkiewicz and Caden Brooks capturing the win for the Bearcats with a time of 6:25.51  

This is also the fifth year in a row that McKendree has won the 800-yard relay. 

Next, the team will be competing in the 200-yard Individual Medley, 50-yard freestyle, and 1000-yard freestyle on the second day of the GLVC Championships.
