EVANSVILLE, Ind. – McKendree Men's Swim and Dive continued to add onto the medal count on day two of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Swim and Dive Championships Wednesday night at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
The first final of the night was the 1000-yard freestyle in which both Miguel Carvalhosa and Jakub Rynkiewicz both reached the podium. Carvalhosa took home second place for McKendree with a time of 8:58.15 and Rynkiewicz took third with a time of 9:03.26 respectively.
The next event was the 200-yard individual medley in which Tyler Bardak earned a third-place finish, stopping the clock at 1:46.56.
Vova Gavrysh soared to the finish line in the 50-yard freestyle swimming a sub 20 seconds in the event, finishing with a time of 19.93, earning a second-place finish. Phinn Theall also finished within the top 8 in the event with a time of 20.47.
The team of Joey Ovanic, Daniel de Oliveira, Nojus Bertulis, and Tyson Upton, ended the day with a bronze finish in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing with a time of 1:26.19.
Next, the team will be competing in the 100-yard butterfly, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard freestyle for the third day of the GLVC Championships.
