(COSTA MESA, Calif., September 9)- The McKendree University men's soccer team improved to 3-0 overall on Thursday night after a 1-0 win over NAIA No. 20 Vanguard University.

The Bearcats will travel to Santa Barbara, Calif., on Saturday, September 10 to face Westmont College at 1:30 p.m. PST.

After a scoreless first half, a defensive miscue by the Lions led to an own goal that gave the Bearcats a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute.

Senior goalkeeper Joe Sagar (Oldham, England, Hulme) improved to 3-0 in goal for the Bearcats this season and snagged six saves in the shutout win.
