Christian Herluf garnered his
second career weekly award as he added two more shutouts to his portfolio, as the Bearcats collected a 0-0 draw at No.24 Maryville and a 3-0 victory at Missouri S&T. Herluf won his first weekly laurels on
September 11 of this season after an unbeaten weekend in non-conference play.
Herluf, a native of Odder, Denmark, collected 180 minutes in net over the pair of GLVC men's soccer contests with a one-point draw against the Saints and a three-point win over the Miners. The freshman collected five saves in total on the weekend, helping push his team up in the league standings and lowering his goals allowed average to 0.64 on the season. Against the 24th-ranked Saints, he collected one save as the Bearcats allowed just four total shots with major control of their defensive half. At S&T, McKendree went against 10 shots from the Miners with Herluf grabbing all four on-frame attempts. He faced 14 shots on the weekend slate.
With the weekend, Herluf and the Bearcats improved to 6-1-4 and 4-1-2 in the GLVC. In the GLVC, Herluf ranks fourth in goals against average (0.64), third in shutouts (5), and eighth in save percentage at .731.
