Pidge earned four varsity letters in basketball. From 1950 to 1954 he led the team in scoring all four years, and was elected Most Valuable Player in 1952 and 1953. In 1951-52, he was reated fifth in the nation among small-college players in scoring with a total of 701 points for a 25.9 ppg average. That same year he was the top small-college rebounder with 27.3 per game, a record still ranking him #1 nationally at the time of his Hall of Fame induction. Pidge ranked 13th nationally in total points for the final three years of a college career. His career total of 2,510 points represent a 21.8 ppg average over 115 games. McKendree records he held include: career field goals and free throws, season field goals and free throws, game field goals and points, season scoring average, career rebounds, season rebounding average and total points for a career. He held the Prairie college conference game record of 36 points and the Conference record of 27.0 points. He was selected for honorable mention on the 1953-54 Converse All-American Team.
