Hall of Fame
A four-year letter winner in baseball, Sy played third base and led the team in batting his sophomore and senior years, hitting .373 and .489, respectively. As a senior he was team captain and Most Valuable Player. Upon graduation he taught science and coached for 36 years at St. Jacob Grade School. During his tenure there he coached track for 15 years, boy's baseball for 36 years with a 259- 140 record and 12 conference championships, boys basketball for 36 years with a 762- 419 record and 16 conference championships, girls basketball for eight years with a 140-100 record and three conference titles.
