Jon’s basketball career at McKendree College includes many standing records. Jon was listed twice in the Academic All Conference for maintaining a 3.45 GPA. His All Conference Honors include 1992-93 Freshman of the Year, 1993-96 First Team All Conference. Jon made two National Tournament Team appearances and was selected twice for the All American Team as an Honorable Mention and Third Team Member.

Jon also played on the golf team his junior year, during which he played on the 1995 National Tournament Team.

As an athlete at McKendree, Jon played every minute as though it were the final minute of his final game. He felt as though he played for one of the best basketball coaches in the state and this experience has helped shape his professional career as varsity coach of both golf and basketball at the high school level. While coaching, his enthusiasm and passion for the game are obvious to players and fans alike. Jon demonstrates not only the fundamentals of the game, but also discipline, leadership and respect. He is extremely proud of his experience at McKendree and lives as an example of how hard work pays off.
